Testing email notification
Question:
My question is how can I get a copy of my blog entries in case I want to change blog sites. When/if I choose to change blog hosts, how can I get a copy of those precious blog entries?
Answer:
Here is the answer that I got from the BlogDrive Support Team:
--snip--
There is currently no export feature although there has been discussions about creating one. But there are a few options you can do to capture the data:
1) Grab in the information in the XML feed.
2) enable FTP to a secondary web site
3) Have each entry automatically emailed to you through the blogdrive system.
--snip--
I don't really understand the first two options. How can I get my blog entries turned into xml? I know I'm making entries as straight ascii text, but the BlogDrive editor is wraping them into HTML. Then where does XML come into play?
OK, I really don't understand what the second option means. I know what FTP is, but I don't understand what support is suggesting...some sort of automated FTP of my blogs...?
The third entry is easy. I know the link to that Notification system for me is here: http://www.blogdrive.com/manage/blog_notifications?bid=18890
I'd be interested in seeing whether my entries are mailed to me as xml. I guess I'll see when I finish this entry.

Review of first entry experience
Well, I've made my first entry and it was a blazing success. I've just changed my template to a black template with flower thingies. This is pretty cool.
Next test: can I get a copy of my blogs in case I want to move onto another site for whatever reason?

My first blog will simply be a test image. Does this work?
